Can you supply 100% recycled corrugated cardboard?

Can you supply 100% recycled corrugated cardboard?

The short answer, is yes! The corrugated cardboard that makes up a corrugated box is often produced from recycled materials like old corrugated cardboard or newspapers. Cardboard is one of the most widely recycled materials globally with some corrugated cardboard produced from 100% recycled materials.

That being said, the majority of cardboard is made using between 70% to 90% recycled materials. This is because once corrugated cardboard had been through several cycles of being created into a product and then broken down again through recycling, a small percentage of new, virgin materials may have to be added to increase the fibre lengths in order to achieve a stable board. This process is still much more sustainable than using completely virgin materials, or unrecyclable materials that will have to be sent to landfill and take a long time to decompose.

The sustainable nature of theses boxes means that they can be recycled and remade time and time again. Many custom corrugated boxes that are printed use ink that’s not only recyclable but treatable as well. This ensures that these boxes can be recycled as easily as standard non-printed corrugated boxes. Switching to sustainable materials like recycled corrugated cardboard will help to conserve energy, reduce air and water pollution, reduce greenhouse gases and conserve natural resources.
