CASE STUDY: Dame Green Packaging

BRILLIANTLY BESPOKE

A bespoke packaging product can speak volumes – especially when it ticks all the sustainability boxes too!

Here at Blake we believe that by investing in a unique and innovative solution to envelop your product, you can ensure those first impressions count and your brand stays at the forefront of the consumer’s mind for years to come!

Blake’s bespoke service offers unique, made to order enveloping solutions designed for a specific purpose. With the ability to supply almost any shape and size of envelope or packaging using almost any kind of material, our skilled team are always able to come up with that special something to suit the most particular requests.

DAME

DAME are a female hygiene company who are responsible for inventing the first reusable tampon applicator. Passionate about reducing waste and protecting the planet, they are experts at rethinking everyday products so that they have the least possible impact on the environment, or, as they put it, “turning the bathroom green”, all while still ensuring the highest quality and performance.

Staying ‘green’ and ensuring our impact in the world around is kept to a minimum is something that Blake, too, are passionate about, so we were fully in sympathy with their desire to use the most eco-friendly methods and materials possible in the manufacturing process.

DAME’s challenge for us was to create 15,000 carton boxes, sample wraps and envelopes to hold their hygiene products.

CREATING THE FINISHED DESIGN

As eco credentials were a high priority, we worked very closely with the client to create a final design which would echo this as closely as we could. With this in mind, we opted for a recycled WLC board construction, which gave a distinctive recycled look and feel that the client immediately loved!

With the main product coming into shape, the next challenge for us was the need to print white onto the uncoated side of this board. Our innovative team were able to overcome this by choosing to digitally print the board on our Ricoh press rather than using a hot foil process, which produced a very successful outcome (as shown in the images!)

The client’s enthusiastic comments say the rest…

“WOW guys, it’s awesome. Thumbs up for the white, double thumbs up for the shade of green. Love it”
